Life is a chore after a chore!

I can't believe it has been so long since my last post. Well a lot has happen. I'm on my private insurance from my former employer because of the federal and state (Calif) COBRA laws. Well, my former employer has decided to change insurance companys from Pacific Care to Aenta. That meens I have to change doctors. I have to get back my premiums for July and August. They are paid 3 months in advance. So, that is what i'm going to try and get done this week.

Hope In Motion! Update

I'm now into my 6th day of my CIDP relapse. Hopefully tomorrow I will
awake to a new remission. This has been the way things have gone this
last year. Back and forth, up and down. Will it ever end?

I hope to have something more positive to share over the next several days.

IVIg/Insurance update: Crescent Health Care was able to get one more
IVIg treatment authorized and it will be tomorrow. Then my Neuro and me will have to go to war against the Insurance company, Pacific Care. They will not win. I refuse to give up. I must keep Hope in Motion!

Today's update on the health insurance fiasco

I received mail today from Pacific Care my so-called health insurance company. It was a notice of non-eligibility for services I received on November 14, 2008.

I received my twice monthly IVIg infusion that day in which is always pre-approved by my insurance company. So, what has changed suddenly? NOTHING except the incompetence of this company!

I have been fully covered with this health insurance company since 2006 when I was a full time employee of McLaughlin Engineering and Mining company out of Temecula, California. I was forced into the disability world at the end of January 2007. I was on family leave until June of '07 at which time I went on Federal COBRA which I'm still on.

I am responsible for my own premiums and I am paid up till the end of this year. This is a huge mistake that needs to be fixed. I hope to get some help from various advocacy organizations and possibly legal action this coming week.

Stay tuned,
David
